The long-awaited second edition of the book Bio jedan JAT will be released in the summer of 2025, offering an updated, fully-color version of the beloved history of the iconic Yugoslav airline, JAT. In addition to the Serbian edition, the book will be published in English under the title There Was JAT Once.
One of the key updates in this edition is the complete restructuring of the content. The new version is divided into two main sections: the first focuses on the history and evolution of JAT, while the second part, titled Jatovci, shines a spotlight on the individuals who contributed to the airline’s legacy.
Both the Serbian and English editions will feature a full-color design, a significant upgrade from the first edition, which was mostly printed in black and white with a few color sections. The updated layout includes numerous new photographs and illustrations, which are now integrated directly into the text rather than being grouped in blocks, enhancing the overall reading experience. As a result of these updates, the book has expanded from 432 pages to 480 pages.
The English edition has undergone minor revisions, particularly in the sections covering the socio-political and economic context of Yugoslavia during the time when JAT was founded. These adjustments offer simplified explanations and additional context to make the material more accessible to international readers.
